Jaime Cabrera del Pino, Commercial Director and Head of Charter of Naviera Armas Trasmediterránea, was elected today by acclamation the new president of Asocelpa (Association of Ship Consignees and Stevedores de Las Palmas), in accordance with the result of the General Electoral Assembly held this February 18, which was convened on January 29. Jaime Cabrera was the only candidate who stood for the Presidency of the most veteran employers of the Port. The Board of Directors encouraged Jaime Cabrera to present himself and assume the Presidency of Asocelpa again.
The new positions of the Board of Directors, announced in the Assembly session held at the end of 2020, which has as incoming members Francisco Naranjo, Gabriela Esquivel and Héctor Perdomo, were also ratified. These new members were co-opted by the Board of Directors in accordance with the Asocelpa statutes.
On the other hand, the member Alejandro García-Reboredo left the chair to assume the position of Secretary, vacant until then.
The composition of the Board of Directors of Asocelpa remains with the following members:
President: Jaime Cabrera
Vicepresident: Carmen Moreno
Treasure: Federico López
Secretary: Alejandro García-Reboredo
Vocals: – Eduardo Álvarez
– Gabriela Esquivel
– Francisco Naranjo
– Héctor Perdomo
It should be noted that the composition of the Board of Directors is faithful to the Asocelpa Statutes when it recommends that they represent the different activities that make up the association. In this case there are consignee agents for containers, fishing, passenger traffic, ro-ro cargo, cruise ships and off-shore, among others.
Jaime Cabrera repeats as president of Asocelpa, but maintains the same philosophy of collaboration with the rest of the port employers to try to have a single voice in the common problems they face. Likewise, he wants to maintain a relationship of mutual collaboration with the Port Authority of Las Palmas for the benefit of the port community and the development of the site.
Four years after its centenary, Asocelpa is revalidated as the most active employer in the Ports of Las Palmas and the one with the most specific and direct management in port activity. In this sense, the new Board of Directors hopes to be up to the new challenges that arise, from collaboration, dialogue and transparency.
